OASIS Working Group is excited to invite you to the first OASIS Design Gathering on Saturday 13th October, 2018 from 11-3pm at the Wellesley Community Centre (Room A) .The OASIS Food Hub is a concept that’s been developed by residents, cultivated through 5 years of resident-started and run food initiatives. You’re invited to join us over the next few months in a design process – there will be opportunities to learn, and to make real decisions about the future workings of the Food Hub.
To honour our commitment to keep OASIS rooted in the people who will be most involved, we need your voice! Together we know what our families needs, what would work best in our particular neighbourhood. Our first Design Gathering is for St. James Town Residents (and former residents, <5 years) and Working Group Members only, and we really hope to see you there.
This is the opportunity for us to discuss and make decisions about the food hub design. The gathering will be guided by facilitators from the Conscious Minds Co-operative – our education partner – who will lead participants in visioning a future OASIS food hub and into practical discussions that will range from choosing compost systems to the types of food grown to food pricing systems.
We will provide childcare and free food and there will be opportunities to sign up for a St. James Town Community Co-op Membership if you don’t have one yet.
Confirm your attendance by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you can’t make it on the 13th, but you are interested in being involved in future gatherings/decision-making, please email as well. Feel free to get in contact if you have any questions or concerns.
