Rally for SPACE !

27 October 2021
We need your help. The Co-op is hosting a media event by this upcoming Farm To Table Wednesday on October 27th to demand space for food security in St James Town at 1:30pm (near the outdoor pool by Food Basics).
We are asking the city for permission to use a shipping container because there is (still) no space available, and a long hungry winter is coming, and we are already facing food insecurity. We propose to share the container with other food programs that don’t have space (most current projects – freedom city, the residents association in 200, the fruit and veggie man).
To show support you can:
Come out to the event, (let us know if you want to be interviewed) make and bring a sign demanding space for food, sign the petition https://www.change.org/p/st-james-town-urgently-needs-space-for-food-security and/or send a letter.
Also, you can sign up to join the Co-op and get involved in our projects like the OASIS Food Hub, Food Corps, Black and Indigenous Food Rights (@out.the.mud.to on Instagram), and order from the Co-ops’ Good Food Buying Club shop (Link here). It would also be helpful if people could send us a testimonial (positive message) saying you appreciated our food program, and/or need access to healthy affordable food and are asking for food security space to help feed St James Town this winter.
